1998, The ten members of the Ecclesiastical Choir of Agrinio were hosted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerondoudis in Johannesburg, during the celebrations of our National Day on March 25. They were greeted with great enthusiasm by all the orthodox Greeks of South Africa, who enjoyed, with great devoutness, the beautiful psalms in the various churches. In the church of Panagia Pantanassa, in the northern suburbs, they sang on the third day, late in the afternoon. The church was full of faithful parishioners. As soon as they started singing, there was a power outage. Immediately everyone lit candles and, without loudspeakers and strong electric lights, the chanting was divine. All believers remember and will remember for many more years the harmony of those psalms, which touched the hearts of all present.
